We are a group of neighbors living in the San Francisco West Portal and Inner Parkside neighborhoods who first organized in 2006, when we learned about a proposed high-density housing development planned for the 4.6 acre forested western side of the historic Arden Wood property. It was our goal to influence the size, scope and design of the project to ensure that it didn't adversely impact our neighborhood. While that project eventually failed, we continue to monitor events at Arden Wood, and will update this site as we learn more. We are not opposed to all development at Arden Wood, only bad development that doesn't blend with the existing neighborhood.

Developer Mark Nelson has sold three of the seven new homes he built on lots acquired from Arden Wood Inc. along the Eastern edge of the Arden Wood property.
The seven new homes are unattached, approximately 3,300 sq. feet, and all face onto the narrow, curved block of 15th Ave, between Wawona St. and West Portal Ave.
The remaining homes remain available and are listed for $1.68 Million - $1.87 Million each. | | Updated: 1/6/2010 | | | | Arden Wood Board moves to subdivide remaining property
Arden Wood Inc. is currently in the process of subdividing their remaining property into three separate lots. According to records reviewed at the County Surveyors office, Arden Wood intends to split their remaining 12 acres so that the Chateau (the main building) is on one parcel, the existing director's house on another, and the rest of the property (approximately 4.6 acres) on a third. The existing access road behind the Grove is specifically excluded from this subdivision. [Read More] | | Updated: 1/4/2010
