New Subdivision

Arden Wood Inc. is currently in the process of subdividing their remaining property into three separate lots. According to records reviewed at the County Surveyors office, Arden Wood intends to split their remaining 12 acres so that the Chateau (the main building) is on one parcel, the existing director's house on another, and the rest of the property (approximately 4.6 acres) on a third.  The existing access road behind the Grove is specifically excluded from this subdivision.
 
According to District 7 Supervisor Sean Elsbernd, Arden Wood, like many non-profit organizations, is concerned about their financial status in the current economic environment. They would like the option to take out a loan using their real estate as collateral without encumbering their main facility. Breaking the property into several smaller lots would enable them to use a portion of their property as collateral or even sell it outright if the need arises.
 
As far as we know there is no new development planned for the Western portion of the Arden Wood at this time.
 
We are gathering additional information and will update this page as soon as we have anything to report. For now, we've posted a surveyors map of the proposed changes (click on the image to the right to view a full-size version of the map). It's a photocopy of the document on file with the County Surveyor, and we have added the red outlining to help call out the fine detail from the map.
